Duncan Lake Camp

Duncan Lake Camp is a three acre island camp, tucked away in a remote spot of northeastern Ontario. For over sixty years Duncan Lake Camp has been putting smiles on outdoors men/women/families. It’s the true essence of Old School camps with rustic basic needs cabins all with great lake views. Your not going to find modern amenities here such as cellphone reception, Internet signal, TV, electrical appliances or even flush toilets (we do have clean men’s and ladies outhouses).

At night you’ll need a lantern for light after the lights go out at 11pm. Yes we’re a real Old School camp but we see Old School fishing results with stringers of fish caught daily. Duncan Lake is approximately 17 miles long and has over 65 miles of shoreline. Our camp is located centrally on Duncan Lake giving our guests a very remote and most often an undisturbed fishing and hunting experience to enjoy. Without another cabin or cottage within 8 miles, we are all alone here. We have a secure parking area and boat launch on highway #560 just west of Gowganda, Ontario. From there we pick you and your gear up in our taxi boat and escort or bring you 10 miles up the lake to the camp.

Without other camps and daily local fishermen putting pressure on the fish numbers, the lake fish population of walleye, northern pike, and smallmouth bass is in excellent shape. Hunters for moose, black bear, and small game enjoy hunting by boat on thousands of acres of Government Crown Lands. Not only is the fishing and hunting great here, but we also have some of Ontario’s highest peeks surrounding the lake. Nature and beautiful vista’s are all just part of this remote camp tucked away far from any highways, trails, or even train tracks. If your here to fish, hunt, or just relax, the quiet serene settings surrounding us will have you breathless. So if it’s a secluded, remote, off the beaten track, out of the way, backwoods type of place you are looking for, Duncan Lake Camp is it. An old saying that describes our camp perfectly is ”The secret to fishing is to fish where the fish are.”. So come and join us for an outdoor experience that you’ll not be able to wait telling your family and friends about here at Duncan Lake Camp.
